Music Instruction - Guitar, Music Theory and Improvisation on Your Instrument of Choice
Basic & Program Information
Each student's program is individualized and is based on the student's goals. This is not limited to, but might include the following topics: technique, picking principles, rhythm and variations, note recognition on the guitar neck, note reading, chord chart reading, chords, strums, scales, improvisation, melody and chord, ear training, musical idioms, theory, and any other topic of student interest. I will help you with any type of music you wish to explore. I invite both beginners and experienced players. No matter what your level of experience might be, I can help you to achieve your musical goals.
Gary D. Information
I specialize in pick-style electric and acoustic guitar instruction, but I also have taught music theory and application on any instrument of a student's choice.
I have studied and performed music for my entire life, beginning at ten years of age. This will give prospective students over five decades of experience in both performance and musical curriculum. My current instructor, Chuck Anderson, a noted Philadelphia area master instructor and performer, and I have worked together in a formal study program that began approximately in 1976 and continues to this day.
Pricing and Lesson Information_
The lesson tuition is paid in blocks of four one-hour lessons, usually falling on four consecutive weeks. The price is $100.00 per lesson ($400.00 per four-week block). Lessons are at my Hershey Teaching Studio (542 West Granada Avenue, Hershey, PA 17033). Lessons are sixty minutes in length. Lessons are available at any mutually agreed-upon date and time, as long as there is one lesson per calendar week. The lessons may or may not be on the same day/time every week [student's choice], but students must schedule {or reschedule in the event of cancellation} within the same calendar week or both the time and tuition will be forfeited for that week by the student. Planned "weeks off" [vacation, travel, meetings, etc.] may be "scheduled" when a tuition is given to me with no loss of time or money by the student. I suggest that students try to arrive 10 minutes early to "warm up", but this is not a requirement.
There are supplies that every student must eventually have. These will be suggested by me at the appropriate time.
Final Note
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to reach your dreams.

- Snow/ice/poor driving conditions due to weather - in this case I will take the initiative and cancel lessons - students will receive a credit for this cancellation
- Any time I must cancel for any reason - students will receive a credit for this cancellation
- Any planned date off from lessons - this is expressed by the student at the time the tuition for the next block of four lessons is given to me - in this case, tuition will not be applied for the date(s) the student has planned to have no lesson.
